Background

Katherine Roberts, LMFT Associate

My name is Katherine Roberts, and I am a LMFT-A, under the supervision of Carolyn Mehlomakulu, LMFT-S, ATR-BC. I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in child and adolescent family therapy from National University, San Diego, California, as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Ashford University.

My professional practice encompasses working with children, adults, couples, and families across various life stages, addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, challenging family dynamics, divorced and blended families, families within the adoption system, adoptees, and children and adolescents involved in the criminal justice system.

I approach therapy from a systemic perspective, emphasizing that our relationships and experiences shape who we are. I am committed to helping clients recognize their inherent strengths and utilize them to navigate and resolve life's challenges. My objective is to serve as a supportive guide, empowering clients to harness their capabilities and achieve personal growth.

My background includes working with children, individuals and families in crisis, those navigating the adoption system, and supporting families managing mental health concerns. Additionally, my personal experiences with chronic illness and caregiving have enriched my understanding and empathy, allowing me to connect with clients in a meaningful way.

Through my specialized training and diverse experiences, I offer a distinctive perspective on therapy, mental health, and relationships.
